The Faculty of Pharmacy at Helwan University launched a series of health awareness sessions in the holy month of Ramadan, including an awareness episode entitled The Virtues of Ramadan and the Benefits of Suhoor, under the auspices of Dr. Mamdouh Mahdi, Acting President of Helwan University, and under the supervision of Dr. Sameh Sorour, Dean of the College, presented by Dr. Ahmed Abdel Lecturer in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology.
The episode dealt with the virtues of fasting the blessed month of Ramadan, which is one of the five pillars of Islam. It also dealt with the health benefits of fasting, which include revitalizing the digestive system, treating its problems, enhancing brain work, activating neurons, improving psychological state and mood, losing excess weight and burning accumulated fats, and taming people to Get rid of many bad habits such as eating ready-made foods and smoking.
The college also dealt with the health benefits of suhoor, such as preventing fatigue and headache during the day in Ramadan, relieving the feeling of hunger and extreme thirst, reducing the feeling of laziness, lethargy and the desire to sleep during fasting hours, as well as maintaining the cells of the body in a healthy state, revitalizing the digestive system, and maintaining the level of blood sugar. .
The college also provided important tips for suhoor, including suhoor before the dawn call to prayer, with a delay of suhoor as much as possible, in addition to the necessity of having a fruit because it contains useful sugars that provide the body with the necessary energy, and drinking plenty of fluids between sunset and dawn.
